Student Attendance Record I
Solve this the way you would in the interview: out loud, on a timer, with an AI interviewer asking follow-ups while you code. You get a scored report at the end.
Practice this as a mock interviewFree to start, no account neededProblem
A student's attendance record is a string s where each character describes one day: 'A' means absent, 'L' means late, and 'P' means present.
The student earns an attendance award when both conditions hold:
- they were absent ('A') on fewer than 2 days in total, and
- they were never late ('L') on 3 or more consecutive days.
Return true if the student is eligible for the award, otherwise false.
Examples
Constraints
- 1 <= s.length <= 1000
- `s[i]` is `'A'`, `'L'`, or `'P'`
What the interviewer grades
A correct solution is one of five scores. The report also grades problem understanding (did you clarify inputs and edge cases before coding), problem solving, communication while you work, code quality, and testing. See a sample report, or read up on the pattern in the lessons.
