Google's Interview Warmup is gone. Here is what to use for software interviews.
Interview Warmup was a free practice tool from Grow with Google, launched in June 2022. Its address now redirects to a general article of interview tips that does not mention it. The Internet Archive's last saved copy of the working tool is from December 9, 2025. Google has not published an announcement, so the exact date and the reason are not known. Checked October 12, 2026.

What it did
It asked interview questions chosen for the fields Google's Career Certificates cover, transcribed your answer as you gave it, and pointed out patterns: which job-related terms you used, which words you repeated, and what talking points you covered. It did not score answers and did not ask follow-up questions. There was no software engineering track, so it never covered coding or system design.

Software engineering candidates: interns, new grads and experienced engineers.
None. You answered a question and moved to the next.
The interviewer asks follow-ups based on what you said, out loud.
Patterns in your answer: job-related terms, most-used words, talking points. In Google's words, "Your responses aren't graded or judged."
A score from 0 to 10 on each criterion of a published rubric. On Pro, each one comes with quotes from your transcript.
No software engineering question set.
Coding rounds with a real editor and tests that run, system design, and the AI-assisted coding round.
Free.
Free to start without an account. A free account gets 3 scored interviews a month.
If you used it for behavioral practice
The closest thing on Placed is the behavioral round: two questions, spoken or typed, with follow-ups and a scored report. It is written for engineering interviews, so the questions are about projects, teammates and technical decisions. If you are preparing for a role outside software, a general tool will fit you better than Placed will.
If you are preparing for a software role
Start with one round. You do not need an account to sit it; you make one to see the score.
Placed is not affiliated with Google. Interview Warmup and Grow with Google are Google's names. See also Placed and a general chatbot and how grading works.
