Reverse Pairs

HardDivide and ConquerDivide and Conquer

Solve this the way you would in the interview: out loud, on a timer, with an AI interviewer asking follow-ups while you code. You get a scored report at the end.

Problem

Given an integer array nums, return the number of reverse pairs in the array. A reverse pair is a pair (i, j) where: - 0 <= i < j < nums.length and - nums[i] > 2 * nums[j].

Examples

Input: nums = [1,3,2,3,1]
Output: 2
Input: nums = [2,4,3,5,1]
Output: 3

Constraints

  • 1 <= nums.length <= 5 * 10^4
  • -2^31 <= nums[i] <= 2^31 - 1

What the interviewer grades

A correct solution is one of five scores. The report also grades problem understanding (did you clarify inputs and edge cases before coding), problem solving, communication while you work, code quality, and testing. See a sample report, or read up on the pattern in the lessons.
